By the time Sabrina Carpenter walked the red carpet at the 2025 Grammys, she had already taken home her first award of the night for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso.” So it was only appropriate that the singer brought the party (in the back) in her baby blue marabou dress.
For her big night, Carpenter and her stylist Jared Ellner leveled up the pin-up energy she brought to the Short n’ Sweet tour in a custom JW Anderson dress by Jonathan Anderson. The dress was steeped with drama, from the extreme backless silhouette to the Chopard necklace—with a massive pear-cut diamond pendant—acting as the halter neck and hanging down her back. Carpenter, who has previously used the red carpet to pay homage to Marilyn Monroe, seemingly continued her streak tonight, nodding to Shirley MacLaine’s character Louisa May Foster in the 1964 film What a Way to Go!
While she loves a vintage reference, Carpenter made her Grammys look her own with the liberal use of ostrich feathers. The bottom of her gown, which fanned out around her, was trimmed with matching powder blue feathers, as were her hips. If we were Carpenter, we’d be shaking our tailfeathers too.
The carpet look served as a prelude to Carpenter’s performance inside the Crypto.com Arena. She ripped off a glittering Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo to reveal a costume in the same shade of blue. Midway through the set, she performed an onstage quick change, draping herself in a feather-lined robe reminiscent of her dress. The Old Hollywood delight—complete with a tap interlude (in Christian Louboutins no less)!—practically demands an MGM contract for Sabrina Carpenter.
Following her performance, Carpenter abandoned baby blue for a Grammys gold strapless sweetheart dress—which certainly came in handy, seeing as the singer took home the award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
